Jess Ortega has been captivating audiences with her voice since age three, honing her craft in her grandfather’s music room. There, surrounded by southern gospel, country, and bluegrass, she belted out folk tunes, hymns, and original compositions with her grandpa’s guitar backing her. Her grandmother’s stereo introduced her to classical, Broadway, and jazz, while her parents’ 70s records added an eclectic twist. This rich blend of influences shaped her versatile style, with folk and blues-tinged jazz at her creative core.
A vocal coach and piano instructor for over 25 years, Jessica double-majored in Voice and Piano and taught in public schools before choosing to homeschool her four children while running a private teaching studio. In 2024, she launched The Vocal Box, a hub dedicated to mentoring local singers and helping them unlock their musical potential.
Jessica’s performance resume spans decades and even continents. From singing at weddings and churches to performing for a South American city and its mayor, she’s shared stages with choirs, bands, and at local venues such as Redbud Creek Farm. A standout in national solo competitions, Jess selects music that resonates deeply, aiming to inspire, uplift, and bring joy through every note.
